I came across multiple posts in which the pay is very much less compared to the industry standard ( on seeing their YOE)

But digging a bit deeper, we could see the lack of skill sets, not up to the market trend with latest technologies. Basically not updating ourselves with new stuffs happening around.

Your YOE nowadays doesn't matter much but skills matters. Keep upgrading your skills if you want to stick to the market trends and enjoy the boom.

Remember the story of NOKIA ?

True true, skills are the factor that is publicly seen, but even if they have it, the main communication skills matter. Just by the correct communication skills, you can go from b ing underpaid to overpaid!

Random question and not sure if this is the right bowl. Went out last night and tipped 20 bucks but messed up in the total (check was for 115, wrote 20 in the tip row, but put 235 as the total; a lot of drinking at this point). Which amount will I get charged? It should be obvious that it was an error - just saw a pic of the receipt I’d taken

I recently got a job offer from a very big hospital in NYC. They said the offer is conditional on the “rest” of my background check. I’m not sure what that means, they spoke to all of my references already, and said they spoke to HR at my last job. It’s been almost a week, should I reach out or just keep waiting?

My husband and I are working on adopting a kid. Not a baby/toddler and probably not a teenager but somewhere in between. Have been talking with agencies for a while. My husband has always been a blue collar worker and often doing odd jobs. We’ve always talked about him being the parent who is around more for the kids when we have them. For the first time in a while he mentioned wanting to be a stay at home dad for a while. We had previously talked about him working part time or more gig work …

Does BCW not allow conservatives to be employed at this company? I’m sitting through another meeting where we are highlighting amazing women and it is so politicized I am completely offended. AOC, Biden, Ilhan, Hilary... I mean at try to be inclusive when speaking of diversity. You can’t name a single female in the Conservative party throughout history?

Huge mistake? career feedback requested. I am 43. No mentorship/direction in high school and college (Econ degree) ended up writing commercial RE appraisals, it’s a bit of a sweatshop industry imo. Now I am a reviewer at a bank. Shy of $90k & 40 hours with little stress. I have my MAI, life is good. I loved acct. and finance (one grad-level finance class as an undergrad, I liked it.) in college. Feeling under-utilized now. Is there a space where I can add more value/earn more. Honesty only pls

Am I a jerk for ghosting a recruiter I've been in touch with because they called my work phone and emailed my work email (in addition to my personal contact info)? I'm normally up front with recruiters if I don't want to work with them anymore, but this was a horrible impression to me I just didn't bother getting back to them.
