One of those firms doesn’t belong in that list. But yes - it’s totally worth it. Worst case scenario you remain exactly where you are. Who knows how good the best case scenario can be
It’s obviously Deloitte
What are you trying to achieve? A higher salary?
My first year at ACN, my SM told me to never stop applying and interviewing— so go for it… what’s the harm..?
M1 - I am going to disagree. I have 3 masters in completely different fields. I work with MBBK, the two integrators, and big 4, and previously have been employed by them and done my time with them with titles to boot. It’s a different consulting model, and one that doesn’t happen at case/partner level. Don’t get sucked in with titles. As clichéd as it sounds - do what you love and the money will roll in. Titles don’t mean anything, and the stress of C-suite position is not worth it unless you are the CEO. Just make sure you love what you do to the point that it is not work, you have a supportive personal network, and prepared to spend the money on your own educational development while strategically building your network.
Ps- PhDs are becoming the masters of 20 years ago. Just look at how many are being sought for employment across all sectors.

It can be! Esp if you eventually want to leave consulting

Depends. What do you value and what are you looking for both currently and in the long term?
What city are you in? First year consultants (2 YOE if homegrown) at Accenture are getting 112k in tier 2 cities and 126k in tier 1 cities. You could definitely look for a pay bump at other companies.
I am Chicago based. My company is weird because i see so many people who have been here 8 years and were never promoted past Senior Consultant. Then you see people who started as an Associate and are already Senior Consultants after 2 years. My mentor at my company left in September because of inconsistencies such as this.
I’ll refer you to C/ SC positions at D. You can probably get 120+ for C or 140+ for SC. If you have a decent MBA you can guarantee SC and possibly hope for 160+ in the commercial space
Where’s the offer? Have you talked to recruiter/partners/potential coworkers at the other firms? How about the money part? Nothing specific at the moment to say whether it’s worth it or not.
