which market? your best bet is to really get to know people who are already in-house so they can let you know about opportunities before they're posted and be honest with you about whether or not you're a fit.
You could get the in-house role tomorrow or a year from now, so do what will most improve your life today. I'm having a similar experience to you and am realizing that getting a role in-house takes a lot longer than agency.
I hated Edelman after only a couple months. Toxic culture, politics, and people - especially in NYC. Took me a good 7 months of applying and interviewing to land my in-house gig. I also applied to agencies and luckily scores my gig before having to say yes to any of the agencies. Keep trying that’s all I can say.
...I’m trying to decide if I should give up on the in-house hunt and move forward if a role is offered. I want out of agencies, but I want out of Edelman more.
Advice? WWYD?
Personally, I would take a new role (just to remove myself from a bad situation) and still pursue the other position.
Totally feel ya on this one. As someone earlier said, take the Weber role and keep looking. You got this! 💪🏻
In the words of Michael Buble...going in-house is "half timing, the other half luck". If you think it'll improve your life, go to WS and then maybe keep looking for that perfect perfect in-house role once you're there!
Didn’t get the WS gig, still don’t have an in-house role! I must REALLY suck at interviews lol
That sucks, I'm sorry! Maybe it's time to switch it up! Shake up that resume, tweak your key messages you share about yourself... Or maybe start making new resumes for each interest you have and continue blasting them out!
