Or you could try looking at Facebook memes all day. Some people claim that works too
If you're doing two hundred thousand production today you should f****** retire
I find that keeping the pipeline full is less stressful in the longterm than the ups and downs of elephant hunting... so don't try to be hungry just work steadily
Oppenheimer, I imagine OP is referring to bringing in 100-200k AUM in a day? I don’t know, I’m confused too. But to answer the question, I go trough the same thing. I think one way to overcome is to set your goals in a fashion that are not tied around results, but rather tied around activity that leads to results. Get a partner in your office to make a bet with. If you get 30 referrals in a month, the other advisor has to buy you and your significant other a dinner to one of the more expensive restaurants in town. If they hit their goal, you do the same for them. If you both hit your goals, then congratulations, you’re growing, and you both take your spouses to dinner together and celebrate a killer activity month
But I’m with you, Ny life. I set monthly goals, that I break down into daily goals... if I meet my daily goal I’ll mentally shut down.
Go indy RIA and/or start your own insurance broker, paying all your expenses and some staff. You will feel obligated to keep the walls up around you and have people employed. Hire more ASAP to increase responsibility. Give them bonuses for performance. They will love you if they feel valued. Motivation is stronger when you do things for the benefit of those who depend on you to provide funds.
I don’t know how you’re paid but a salary really helps to curb that hunger. Even if your not on salary the company is covering most of your overhead Working for yourself definitely make a difference. Sometimes you need to be hungry to get hungry. If I don’t sell, I don’t eat and my two employees don’t eat either. Like EWM1 said, that’s the most powerful motivation
Six figure paydays? Not bad. How often are these happening for you?
Sounds like the answer is to move away from an insurance company with occasional massive commissions to a firm where the bulk of you business is fee based. You can slowly grow 3-5% every quarter which is a slow burn but freaking compounds over time and is very satisfying and always has you building for the next quarter
FA 2, 30 referrals in a month? Is that actually a thing?!?!?
FA3, believe it or not, yes. 30 in a month is actually pretty low. On average we will get 2 referrals per ask. So if I’m sitting with 10 clients and I ask them for referrals, strategically of course, then I should get about 20. Not everyone refers, but you find out that clients will actually give you great introductions if you just ask.
So if you’re sitting with a client, what is your exact word track? I’ve always been terrible at asking
