I emailed a hiring manager this morning. I got an interview request for a phone call in January. I located the job description only to see in writing it said. We rarely extend offers to people who are at the top of the salary range. Then it said it’s based on experience & location. It’s a remote role I’m in NYC with 8 years of experience. The top salary is actually my bottom which I’m ok with if it’s remote. 2023 job hunting has taught me to get clarity up front.

currently tossing up between staying at a global company (who is in the process of some positive changes) with an amazing manager who supports my career and flexible working … however comes with the inherit issues that come with a long standing global company

compared with a role at a smaller mga, higher salary (around 30%) more , more visibility career wise and some great employee benefits , management seem to be supportive and low staff turnover

I once asked a colleague at a radio company how much he's paid monthly, and he outright refused to tell me. In fact, he found it very odd that I asked. I later learned that he was making double my salary. I know it's not an employee's job to fix pay inequity by sharing their salary figures, but I'm still of the opinion that it helps uncover pay gaps.
