OP: i feel behind in life since I make 65K. how much did you make?
Person: I made 50K
OP: oh great, so I'm at least in front of you. Self-esteem repaired.
Bruh, you feel behind? With this post, all you're doing is looking for someone else to stand in front of. Find some worth within yourself. Only compete with your future self and your needs. Make money to fund the lifestyle you want, not to compare to others
This post is gold!!!
I was making around 20 at that age. Unbelievable
Like $10/hr... LOL
Change your mindset, OP.
Same. $10.90 p/h.

Made 12k (with room and board) at 30.
Make 275k now (early 40's)
Everyone is on their own path.
This!!!!! Everyone’s path is different

I think this guys knows most people make so much less at 23. What did you come here for?
Please don’t feel left behind, or compare salary to age. I know so many people who thought they were behind in career compared to their peers and excelled so fast in 2 years and make more now than those peers. I know it’s hard to not compare yourself with others, but in reality age and salary really don’t go hand in hand.

At 22 I graduated into COVID
At 23 I made $250.00/month as Communications Director of a campaign for Congress, $0/hr as PM of a start up that I was passionate about, and $70/day making videos at a local middle school, living on savings to make up the difference.
At 23.5 I started using FB, and listening to your conversations helped me feel more comfortable talking with people in my target industry and become a better interviewer. I kept getting rejected but identified where I could improve, grew stronger each time, and I went from interviewing for entry level 42k-60k jobs to 70k-100k jobs, feeling more confident in them, finally with offers at FAANG, MBB, and F100. I applied to grad school but got rejected everywhere I applied, then landed my first job.
At 24 I made $80,000/year
At 24.5 I make $130,000/year
I turn 25 in February.
I think it's a stupid mindset to compare yourself to others on this app and feel like you're behind. It's understandable, but there is so much opportunity around you that it's a waste to miss it and feel sorry for yourself. It's smarter to be inspired by people who are doing well and believe that what others are making is *possible and imminent* for yourself, and then use the resources and people here to go out and make that happen for yourself.

~10$/hour at 23
~50k/year at 25
~150k/year atm at 30
I think comparing yourself to others from time to time is pretty normal but its still a trap that you should do your best to avoid. Focus on doing whats in your control to get it higher at the time being.

At 23 I was a college dropout making $12.25/hr working as a retail shift manager. I'm 36 now, married with 3 kids (met my wife at that retail job actually!!), graduate level degree, and ~$250k TC. Like others said, work hard, give it time, and don't compare yourself to the one percenters. ;) Think about how many other 23 year olds would KILL to make $65k! That's roughly the median US family income.... Keep your head up!
You will always be behind if you compare yourself to others!
Try to be better than you were yesterday! Life is about the journey.
I’m making 100k at 23 with my first software engineering job
If there is one piece of advice I can offer, it’s to stop competing. You are not in a race with anyone but yourself, and the only golden ring is that which you set for yourself. If you measure yourself against your neighbor, you will always feel like you are somehow behind. Set a goal, map a course for achieving said goal, and go for it. And, for the love of all things holy, be happy. Life it too damn short.
I make like $32k a year. Can't even afford the cost of living in my state.
You're doing just fine!
I was an elementary teacher at 23 making 30k. I’m now at RSM making 65k at 28. Of course I’d like to make more, but I’m proud of the progress I’ve made

At 23, I quit my $16 per hour job to go back to law school and made nothing.
Please don’t let the comity in your head make you feel that way. There is no one way to live this life.
Everyone on this app makes more than I do… I just crossed the 6 figure mark a free years ago and im 56. I work in marketing in ed sector, so typically low paying. Jesus Christ… people complaining about making 150+ in their 20s ?? Shallow??
