I personally prefer a picture as a hiring manager but some people dont. Honestly it really doesn't matter, because it doesn't matter I still think you should because you stand out in a sea of faceless resumes. I see hundreds of resumes.
I don’t have a picture as it takes up too much space but if you do I think that sets you apart and you should keep it!

wow, im shcokced to hear this!
It opens the door to bias, which also happens during the video HR screen, but at least you have a fighting chance.
Coach
agree with you!
PLEASE do not put pictures on your resume. Might as well have emojis and colored font.
Yes, bias but it’s also pointless. Link your LinkedIn or portfolio and have a picture there.
I have yet to hear a GOOD reason why a picture makes sense.
Additionally - the space it takes up on your resume, your picture isn’t a qualification so it should not be on a resume.
Also in a few ATSs Ive worked in, the picture messes up your resume from being accurately parsed.
I would normally be strongly against the picture, but everything is so different now, maybe I should reconsider. Have you gotten interviews and calls, including one? I would worry about ATS, but I can see how it would make you stand out in front of a real person if you get that far.
Coach
everything is different but i dont think pictures have become common yet!

This one surprises a lot of people because it feels harmless. But the main concern is bias, even when nobody intends it. The idea is to keep the first pass focused purely on skills and experience without introducing visual cues that can unconsciously influence decisions.
