I get that good talent goes quickly, but one of my biggest challenges is investing significant time and effort into the interview process, only to have top candidates accept other offers at the last minute. I try my best to make sure that the interview process isn't unnecessarily long, but apparently, any time spent getting to know the candidate is time wasted. How do you approach this, and what do you do when you've lost too many candidates to other companies?

Yeah it's really hard. I just do my best, and the bare minimum. So I keep candidates updated at every stage, move quickly on decisions, and try to build a personal connection so they feel valued. If I lose candidates to competitors, I review feedback and look for ways to streamline the process or improve our pitch about the team and culture.

It’s going to happen. If it’s happening constantly, something is broken. Make sure while interviewing that it’s a two-way street and significant time for you to spend on the process is a candidate on the other side ready for an offer already.

Tell us more about your process and what feedback you are getting from candidates that you offer a job to and they don’t accept. Does your company’s pay structure meet or exceed industry averages? What other benefits do you offer that set you apart from the competition?

Yeah this is part of the problem with long interview processes. I have successfully convinced upper management at my company to limit interviews to no more than 3 and I've found that we're having a smoother time landing the talent we want.

love this! my company insists on 5 interviews

I try to limit the number of interviews- 1 phone screener, and 2 interviews maximum.

Hi everyone,
I want to learn Salesforce Tableau CRM (formerly known as Einstein Analytics) and switch to a different organisation. In my current company stuck in a project where there's no learning scope, no growth and work culture is toxic. Now I'm only going through Trailhead, YouTube playlist videos and practicing hands on in my free personal org. Are these enough to crack interviews or not? I don't have real-time project experience.

Need advice on a specific question!
Interviewed with Chicago court 2 weeks ago; they decide mid-August. Interviewed with DC judge last week; hear from him by this Friday. Chicago said if I need an answer before August, they'd try to make a decision about me sooner.
Should I ask Chicago for an answer? Or should I wait until there's an offer from DC judge? Maybe seems better to withdraw before an offer is made rather than ask for time to think about it/turn down DC? What's proper etiquette?

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!

Just graduated with Aerospace Engineering degree. I am interviewing for multiple positions at once with different companies. One gave me an offer and they want me to get back to them within 2 days. I still have other interviews scheduled and some for higher paying jobs (around 90k) What should I do?
I do like the company that gave me an offer but their base pay was 80k and they went up to 85k. Is asking for them to match the 90k too much? The position is associate systems engineer.

Hi Team,

I have cleared all the interview rounds (WebEx & HR on call) for the position: VERIFIER, and also submitted documents (authentic as per my knowledge) for background verification on Aug. 25, 2022.

How much time usually ICICI bank takes to generate Offer Letter, after all the verification process??

I have gotten a verbal offer from Facebook, but I just had my phone screen interview with the hiring manager at Amazon yesterday. I want to reach out to the recruiter at Amazon and let them know what the timeline looks like. I would much rather have the Amazon job over the Facebook one. But I’m afraid if I decline Facebook then Amazon won’t happen. I’m just completely lost.

Now the offices have started, I am scared if they call me to office , I have 14months son, not willing to leave him n go for office.

So if I ask manager to give me permanent wfh will they agree ?

Hi
I am currently working in finance but want to move to tech/information technology eventually since it's a growing sector. Any suggestions on how I can go forward with it in the most beneficial way?
Should I get into a program? If yes, which one would best suit me to get myself going in tech as I have no prior experience there.
Can I be self taught to expect good companies reaching out?
Just need some ideas to get going.

Please help!

What are your strategies for completing work efficiently? How do you figure out how long projects should take? A consistent piece of feedback on my yearly reviews has been that I over-bill & spend too much time on assignments. It’s something I actively work on, but I still have no concrete sense of how long I should spend on basic tasks (e.g., drafting a motion to dismiss). My firm is right to expect that I manage my time better as a mid-level associate. WFH has made my time management worse.
