I got an offer from a Big4 for Manager role before pwc announced mid year raises. Now when I compare my new comp with the offer, doesn’t look that attractive anymore. Is there room for more negotiation here? As in, does it leave a good impression? I didn’t say a solid “yes” to their offer but they were flexible to give me the comp I had asked initially. Need advice. I may have an offer coming from a private accounting firm to be a Senior Staff Accountant very soon. While I had my final-round interview this week, a top-10 public accounting firm

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!

I am curious how Onesource Income tax stacks up against it's competition.

First-year tax staff that started end of Q3, and just had my first year-end performance evaluation meeting. Is HNW tax a trap? It's my strongest skillset (including the soft-skills aspect of dealing with those clients) and I got appoached for a job that focuses more on HNW, but I don't know if it's a good idea to focus in on that direction at my career stage. After working 5+ years and letting life happen, I ended up back with a staff title (no career/group change). Everyone said I was doing well throughout my career. But most of peers are now managers, senior managers, directors, controllers, etc. I really don’t want to compare, but how do I deal with this so it doesn’t bother me?
