I had a first round interview over two weeks ago. HR sent me an email over a week later saying they’re still going through first round interviews and can’t give me a proper update yet. Is it normal for companies to take so long? Or are they likely just keeping me as a back up?

I received an offer from IBM Bangalore. However I saw openings at my preferred location Kochi only after the interviews. I called the HR after getting their point of contact mail and I asked if it's possible to switch. They said I'm already tagged to a project and that they'll check from their end if it can be done.

Anyone knows the chances of location being changed after receiving the offer and getting tagged to a project?
