"I was repeatedly put in a position where I did not feel safe at work and there was no formal avenue for me to report the behavior without retaliation from the individual. Feeling safe at work is very important to me and so I choose to pursue opportunities elsewhere." Then add in some line about how you saw they value blah blah or their value of blah blah and ask how they have seen it in action.
Basically answer it without giving too many details and flip it to a question about the organization's culture like you are trying to determine alignment with your beliefs.
Thank you so much!
I’m so sorry that happened to you. Same thing happened to me and I️ fought it for a year and settled with the company eventually and it really messed with mental health. Take this time to take care of yourself and I’m proud of you for taking yourself out of that situation. I️ hope you find a company that respects and values you. If you need to talk or need any help feel free to reach out. Here for you, you aren’t alone in this!
Do you have text messages from your old boss? YOU SHOULD SUE
Gather your documentation, dates, everything. Contact a qualified lawyer asap. Anything less than this allows this to happen to the next....

Even if an attorney does not charge upfront, it still cost time and potentially emotional strain. Some people simply would rather move on then have to relive and fight for a year or more and/or can't just take time off from their new job to meet with an attorney to sue the old employer.
You should make a complaint to the EEOC. Unfortunately without a smoking gun, in my experience a lot of lawyers will tell you to just move on unless you really want an expensive fight. Of course that is terrible, but the system is stacked against us.
Don't get a reference from the creep, use someone else. I'm sorry you're going through this, it's very hard to feel so helpless.
Check the labor laws in your State. In Many places Past Employers are only allowed to confirm dates you worked there. But the employer can state a person is not eligible for rehire, it gets tricky. You can use that job but request the employer not be contacted. Not sure if that would be a red flag.
Many potential employers will search employment records as shown by past employers filing tax records .
If you only worked there a short time, you can either omit it on your resume or state the job was not a good fit for your long term goals, if asked .
To answer your question, yes I experienced sexual harassment from my manager when I was a teenager. But back then there were not strict laws in place and I never reported it.
You have a case regardless, get a lawyer or file a claim yourself, he may or may not have an employee practice liability insurance.
As far as your interviews just say there was a difference of views, and you don’t have to put him as a reference of you don’t want to
Yes. Contact the EEOC in your city and they will sue for you. I paid nothing and found out that 17 other females had this issue as well. Because of me the company had to implement a whole new sexual harassment training, the CEOs who hid what was going on were reprimanded and some terminated, and 1.5 million dollars were paid out.

Send them references.
In future document everything and forward emails to your personal email address
Don’t list him as a reference. Is there anyone else in the company you could list?
