Clearly she's experienced enough to know you need micromanaging, otherwise you'd just be slacking off!
😅
Maybe
Wait until I quit
Then maybe she’d realize the extent of her actions have had on her team
Also, I’d disagree with her being experienced. It’s her first time being a manager, and I’ve have several managers prior without this sense of terrifying feeling
Micromanagement is a pain. Feedback to her. Say your goals require you to have and show autonomy. Corporate for "leave me the f#*# alone"

My thoughts as a fellow slacker. Are you working to meet her fast pace? If so you should try to slow it down. I had a similar micro manager and I would intentionally tell them things would take longer that they actually would. Certain tasks I could get done in half an hour but would tell them I’d have them done by the end of day. That’d get the off my back and limit them from giving me more work. If it was urgent then they’d ask for a quicker turnaround. Honestly, as long as I delivered quality work, timing became less of an issue.
Honestly I have thoughts to do that. She’s the type of person who always answers your question with a question, and now I just feel super uncomfortable approaching her with anything (bc it is always so exhausting asking her stuff, i might as well figure out). Idk what to do, i’ve been trying to interview over the past month and a half but working 50-60 hours in an industry role with projects after projects and no buffer time to chill (as carefully planned by my manager) it’s been insanely difficult 😥
Jump ship. Queue some interviews during a certain period, ask for PTO/vacation to have the time to prepare and execute them properly and tell her to enjoy churn.

Leaders micromanage when they don’t know how to manage and lead

EY maybe look it as a way to learn and grow? You said she is incredibly technically skilled.
Yeah, that’s the only way. I do respect her though. I just don’t think she knows how to manage people. It’s her first time being a manager
