Currently a reservist at MBB. DM and I can provide some info!
DM’d!
I personally don’t. I quit the reserves right when I joined BCG and for me it would have been way too much.
Also, I hated every second of the reserves. I was a pilot at a DESRON that had no ships so we did plans. And lots of NKO.

Navy Reservist at Accenture, here. Happy to talk through my experience (feel free to DM).
One thing to keep in mind - the current manning situation on the active duty side is absolutely abysmal, as I am sure you well know.
Even with GWOT ramped down, involuntary reserve mobilizations (for us) are beginning to be turned back on just to augment & provide support.
If you have a TS - expect to get mobilized as soon as that 2 year deferment is expired.
If you’re 10 years or beyond - it could be worth it. If you’re at the 4-6 year mark, I’d say no. Also … if you get a high VA rating once you separate, that definitely factors into the cost-gain of this as well.
If you want another datapoint - I was told (when I first affiliated from active and was working with a Reserve TA) that there was a less than 4% chance to be involuntarily mobilized within my community.
I was then tagged for a MOB while still WITHIN my 2 year deferment, with my ready-load-date set for days after it expired.
Whatever you’re being told right now, I wouldn’t treat that as anything other than short-term conjecture. You should go into this with the expectation that you’ll be MOB’d as early as possible.
That being said … dude/dudette - you got a Mckinsey offer, you have less than 10 years in - you’ll probably get a decent VA rating if you documented things correctly..
… why do you want to put yourself through this?
