I’d ask in your 1:1s to see how she’s feeling/managing the current workload. She may be ok with what you’ve been sending her.
I think what you're doing is right, however perhaps I'd communicate it to her and get her input, since she might be wanting to work a little extra now while she still can, or might not want to pass on opportunities to contribute to certain projects while she can. Sounds like you're a very thoughtful manager though :)
This question alone tells me that you're being a great superior to your subordinate. I would communicate with her just to be sure what I'm doing is right, though. You appear to be on the right track the way I see it.
