I have a parking pad in front of my house. It’s inset and there is no sidewalk between my house and the pad. House is 1940s and we were told we have rights up to the telephone pole- about 3 feet from our line. The town paves the street. We pave our pad. Our neighbor across the street (double yellow) has started parking on our pad. They even park overnight. They have always moved at my request until today. Do we have rights? Would the cops do anything? Small town busy street.

If it's inset, maybe just start double parking and blocking in your neighbor if they've started refusing to move or not park there. Think they'll get the hint, just be on the lookout if they try to mess with your car or get it towed.

One of my neighbors has the same, but never seen anyone else try to park there and it's long enough to fit 3 cars.

My 2nd car is there now. And good thoughts thanks. Yes we never had an issue with others parking in our spot until this jabroni moved in a couple years ago.

It’s had to follow your description. Is it like this? But with no sidewalk? I would look at the property lines on the county plat maps and see if you own that land or not. You can probably do this on-line. If you own it, have them towed.

Thank you MD1. I’ll call the town. When they put a gas line in and then they paved we learned they would pave the parking pad and it was our responsibility. You might be correct about the right of way. Thanks!

Hello! Looking at an opportunity with established startup in UK that's just been acquired by a large co. I'm US based and my salary is around $250k (NYC) -I've been asked my expectation without the startup giving me a range to work from (though I've asked). I'm not sure how to reply to them because I have a feeling that my requirement may be out of their range and while I don't want to undercut my value, I also don't want to be cut out of the process because it's an interesting co. Any advice?

I’m currently in a lease admin type role, in commercial real estate. I make a base salary of $50.5K with about $9k in bonuses. I’ve continuously received 7-10% raises over the last 3 years. I anticipate getting a promotion this year and would like to get closer to $60k for my base salary. I’m the only person in my role at the company and have been a key person in developing our team as we look to expand. Is this unreasonable? Is there a normal increase given with promotions? Thanks in advance!

I’m in Dallas and have been renting for 5 years. I don’t have any savings, but have about 30k in my 401k. Im thinking about leveraging that to buy a condo/or house. Is that a good idea or am I in over my head? I mostly want to, because I’m tired of renting and I’ve read reports that prices will only continue to go up. Although, I will have to pay back the 401k + pay rent, so maybe not a good idea. Advice/resources would be helpful.

I have a rental property and my tenant is asking me to change the fridge light burb. I live out of state and don’t have property manager locally. Is it bad if I ask them to change the fridge light burb themselves?

I’m pretty responsive for things they need help with like laundry machine got broken or pantry doors fell off. So I had sent people to fix those maintenance and repair issues.

But light burbs? Srlsy? They are grown up people (fresh out of college girls)

Under contract to buy my first home - house hacking a triplex. Property has been leased by the same three tenants for the last 5+ yrs, rents haven’t been raised since they moved in. Rents don’t make/break my mortgage payment but I’m leaving a lot on the table if I don’t increase significantly.

I can take it financially, but wondering, If I absolutely needed to get out of buying it, what recourse do I have? Or could I go ahead, and refinance later (who knows rates at that time...)?

Hi all - any advice for a first time real estate investor looking to make their first purchase at the end of 2021.

I plan on saving $50K, for a $350-400K property in the Long Island, NY area for my first property. Does this sound reasonable? And does anyone have any experience & advice investing in the LI area?

Id like to rent it out for some positive cash flow that I can then start using to save for my 2nd property (sounds easy when I type it).

Thanks all for your input - stay safe!
