I have a question I'd really appreciate some help with.

My AD and I have been at a WPP agency for just over a year and are struggling to get anything of merit out the door.

When given a good brief, something always goes wrong. Strat was off, client wasn't interested in the work, work gets shown to the wrong client. Despite our ideas being liked internally and by clients they always seem to die.

Should we raise this with our line manager?

I'm not sure what can even be done to fix it.

Could I pull off asking my manager from J1 for approval of freelancing on the side? It’s quite common anyway for designers I think. And then my j2 can be “freelance” even though it’s full time?

Already spoke with a partner who wanted something done this morning for him to review and then we discuss again. Sent it to him about 4 hours ago. Should take him half an hour to review max. At what point can I check in with him to see when we can catch up so I’m not waiting in the office all day?
