I have an interview for an in-house position that prefers MBAs. For those who have successfully transitioned from agency to in-house without an MBA: Any insights on how to best position yourself?

You don't need an M.B.A. with Director title and presumably at least 10 years of experience. That's also abundantly clear from the fact they asked you to go for an interview. Stop selling yourself short and self doubting and use your energy to prep for the discussion.

I feel like all client side job postings say that. But the interview will come down to how articulate you are and past experience.

Tell them you will apply for a fully-employed Mba program? There are also a lot of online classes like hbx

Well if everyone else in these interviews will have an MBA, that’s a good differentiator for you. All that’s left for you to do is tell them what skills and experience you acquired while everyone else was MBAing

I’m a college drop out. I got good at my job and showed them what I could offer with my skill set.

Most of the time feel like my MBA was a waste and that I never needed it at all and will never get any kind of pay bump for it. I wouldn't sweat it

Where did you get your MBA, if you don’t mind my asking? I heard that usually only the top 10 schools show any material benefit...

The new MBA is starting your own company. Just a thought..

Don’t worry. Many job descriptions say that but just do your best. Be humble and show how you can bring a different point of view and experience

I’m thinking about going that direction too. It’s intimidating

Wow so I’m a first time people manager in industry (big company) and I’m in the process of getting one of my direct reports promoted. I am shocked that HR’s formal stance is that I have to jump through hoops to rescope the role to justify the promo instead of singing the praises of the direct report who is a rockstar. Theoretically I get the logic of “emphasize the role and not the direct report” but can’t help but feel disappointed that’s the way it is. Are all big companies like this?

Looking for some MBA advice. Went to Indiana U and had mediocre GPA due to mental health struggles. Got medicated and saw a therapist and got a 4.0 my last semester. But still ended with 3.2 gpa. I am a good standardized test taker and am confident I can do well on GRE/GMAT. Given my poor undergrad GPA, am I a non-starter for an M7 MBA? Looking to improve myself as an applicant over the next year or so by seeking out leadership opps within and outside the firm. Any advice is appreciated!
