No. You are required to work there and retire there. There’s no way out. This is the end!!!
Yeah why wouldn’t you? Just be nice and quick about it no need to go into details
Don’t waste their time and your energy.
Absolutely. I once told an interviewer on the actual interview that I was no longer interested after their rude behavior during the interview.
I have done this multiple times. Don’t want to waste my time or anyone else’s time.
BUT one time after I declined to continue, they pursued me hard, asking to meet with others. After a few more convos, I ended up taking the job and worked there for a few years until I relocated. A great place to work after all. It’s good to keep an open mind.
2 schools of thought:
- don’t waste anyone’s time. Cancel once you know it’s not a good fit.
- talk with people who might be your peers or team mates, because you never know when you might run into them again. Interview with as many people as you can, then decline at the end if you don’t think it’s a good fit.
I could make a case either way. But I’ve definitely interviewed with people at company A who I ran into at company D several years later who had a good memory of me just from the interview…
Thanks everyone! I let them know by a nice email :)
For sure. Just let them know you don’t feel it’s a fit.
