I joined KGS in feb 2022, we recently got a mail regarding timeline of appraisal and bonus payout from the partner. My reporting manager hasn't yet reached out to me regarding goal setting, not sure if that happens here. Can you pls help me to know what all things we need to do from our end for the appraisal cycle and bonus payout? Since I'm new to this company KPMG KPMG India

Hi Fishes,
I Will be Joining PWC AC B as SA2 on Sept 2,2022. Just want to know about Appraisal cycle. Is it Mid Year or Annual appraisal process. Also, will I be eligible for next appraisal cycle ? Tried asking the same Question to HR, but didn't get a proper response. She just mentioned as per company policy.

So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

I’d say avoid unless you’re ready to put in the hours to potentially be a multi million or billion company. The benefit is that your experience would put you in a pretty good senior position should the startup soar. However, you need to evaluate if it’s worth the risk
Fair enough, to be honest you could always join and see how the work pace is going. If it’s something that is keeping you motivated and engaged, all good, if not, you can always leave?
Hell no
What round of funding are they in and how much have they raised so far?
Well, good initial sign. Are you prepared to sit through a full 4 year vesting period? If yes, go for it 💯.
That being said, it sounds like you have your own vision for a business. If you don't think you can bring serious energy and enthusiasm to someone else's vision, cut out the middle man and start on your own.
You mentioned that's a long term goal of yours - It sounds like you want to first work on some other startup and build those skills elsewhere - but honestly, as someone who worked at an a-round startup, you're going to have to just figure shit out in either scenario.
It sounds like from your own description that you've already made up your mind. I'm not seeing enough benefits outweighing the downsides/risks. Sorry. I'd pass.
Less pay, longer working hours, and bad benefits sounds like a terrible combination. I don't think it would be worth losing in these areas in order to grow professionally.
