Told the firm my last day will be Jan 15th. Curious what their response will be. Let me go before holiday or not. (Not leaving for competitor)

I work at a new, small firm. We get 10 days of PTO. For family/medical leave, we get 20 days paid and then 20 days unpaid. But policy says we have to take our PTO concurrently with paid family/medical leave. That’s weird, right? It’s like you end up losing paid leave days. It makes sense to do it concurrently with unpaid leave but not paid leave, right?

Tell me if this is selfish or not. I adore my family, but since they're doing a very lowkey Christmas situation this year, I really would rather take a weeks vacation on my own. Obviously the holidays are about spending time with those you love, but I'm tired! And I see my entire family at least once a month for a group dinner. Am I a bad daughter/sister if I choose vacation this one time?

Hey guys - I’ve recently returned to work from 8 months of maternity leave. I love where I work but some things I experienced while away made returning to work not as easy as it could have been. I want to help similar colleagues and also help the business with retention of staff so I’m volunteering to work on a maternity leave communication strategy with our HR Director. My question for you is - what did you or didn’t you like about how your work treated you when you had time off to have kids?

Please clarify for me. I say if the salary for the position is $52,000, that's what you include when posting the job opening. Ie: Marketing Assistant: $52K. My supervisor says no, the salary is actually 74,000, because she's including health benefits and PTO on top of the 52.. I said if you post 74,000 and the person finds out it's actually 52 (probably with a take home pay of only 38) they will walk. Who's right?

I have an employee who had birth complications due to a baby being premature. They were excited to finally go home with the baby but after the baby was released for a couple of days they were sent back to the hospital. The employee was supposed to start their official FMLA leave when the baby was released. With the back and forth complications what kind of note, if at all would be best to have on file so I can properly track FMLA hours? They will run out of PTO in a couple of days.

I really need leave for two weeks. My project does not have long leave policy but it has strict target policy. The last best leave I took was for 4 days only. I really need a long leave so I can have a vacation atleast once. it's been 3 years I worked in my current project. Never taken a long leave. Plz suggest me good ideas. Is the EY 16 week maternity pay 100% of the salary ? I was reading the FAQs and could not find anything that said 100 % of pag provided in the 16 weeks of eligible time off.

Hold master degree in accounting and eligible to sit a cpa exam.

Plan to apply as senior tax associate.

Should I lower the position since I do not have big firm exerience?
