I have been laid off. When I say I am an immediate joiner, the recruiter asks why have you put down paper without offer. If I say the actual reason they either don't call back else reducing expected salary near to the one I was drawing before or less than that also. If I say some other reason they are asking too much cross question. How to handle it?

First i will suggest ,always have a counter offer.
Second, its better to rest few more days or week, rather than joining on low salary expectations. Instead utilize that time to add some weight to your resume.

I was laid off last year August. It's very shocking and I know the feel. As the Tietoevry person mentioned I told the HRs that no company accepts 3 months notice and all want immediate joiners. No one questioned me further. Never reveal anyone that you were fired. Not even to family and friends. Dont go for low salary. Keep on up skill and try it in linkedin. You will get job soon. Dont loose hope. All the best bro.

Always mail to the recruiter why they didn’t select you despite of your good performance. If they give an honest reply then try for the company next time, if they don’t, the organisation is not good.

Just update them I have served notice period and keep some dummy offer letter from small organisation with minimum CTC which you are looking for.

Give them joining date after 15-20 days from today.

Market is not good so try to save your ass at this movement.

Yes you say like I am servicing the notice period till you get an offer .in first offer don’t ask for higher salary . After getting the first offer for 2nd you can ask higher salary.In the end you can say like I got released early .

I think to handle this kind of situation you should plan by saying the HR gave me the option weather u will you quite or should we lay off you forcible and due to market/budget constraints in the team I resigned myself and was released early! I guess there is no way there will written that you got laid off!! I hope you got all the required document from HR?

You : Sorry I cannot share due to Integrity issues. But I can share the offer value in hand. I got 70 percent hike on my last drawn salary. You should give me at least 50 percent hike.
HR : ok when are you available for interview?
You : anytime 😁

Getting laid off is not a crime and in the current IT market scenario layoff is not a surprise. Don't hesitate to tell this truth to recruiters. If they are really interested in your profile and if they really like to hire a person of your skill set, they will definitely circle back to you.

No need to afraid of HRs this much. They are more in need to hire a candidate. Also HRs know this hiring and firing in this IT world is their day in day out job.
One thing to note if layoff tag is curse, then being immediate joiner is a boon too. I am giving this gyan because i have faced simliar situation during the covid crisis.

If they have mentioned Immediate joinee in their Job post, ask them the same question bro. Then why it was mentioned as Immediate Joinee required.
If it was not mentioned tell them that you want to change for better opportunity.

I currently do planning system implementation at SC level. Quite technical stuff and less PMO. What are my future career possibilities from here onwards? Can I keep progressing in the standard ladder and keep doing implementations, or is it automatically going to end up becoming more are more sales oriented and less actual implementation work? Well I guess you should never settle. New gen is giving a hard time to the experienced folks. I think this is the high time to upgrade your skills.
