Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

Everything you’re saying are all great reasons to leave. It can feel difficult to leave even toxic jobs. Let yourself grieve what wasn’t at your current place, and then embrace what will be at your new one! And keep your resignation convo short and sweet. It’s just business.
Thank you. Wise words.
If your boss is a good one they’ll get it and be happy for you.
He’s is an excellent boss
I can promise you that any agency wouldn’t think twice about letting you (or any other employee) go. It’s ok to be sad to leave coworkers that you like working with, but submitting your resignation should feel the same as submitting a time card or a PTO request. You’re entitled to it, just follow the procedure and move on. Remove emotion from the action.
Working on it.

Channel whatever feelings you have about resigning into just being as sincerely gracious as possible when you deliver the news. Express gratitude for the opportunity and what the experience has meant for you and your career. Remember this industry is small, so always tell good people that you’d look forward to the chance to work together again down the road. Hell, even say it to the not-so-good ones LOL.
I have expressed my gratitude. They deserve it.
Focus on all the important things your new job is going to give you. Resigning is awkward but you’ve got to put yourself first. And taking this job is exactly that. Pick a date to get together with the coworkers you like, two weeks into your new job. Your old coworkers will naturally say something that will remind you that you made the right choice. Congrats on the new job.
If you have an MBA you can negotiate for more
Yep, the gimmick still amuses me.
I had a job once, before my ad career. A job I loved. It was my first time going full time at a place and a deeply fulfilling job. A few weeks after getting a full time offer, my fiancé got a job in another city. Resigning was one of the hardest conversations I ever had to have. They TOTALLY understood and were amazing about it. And my fiancé is my wife of 10 years and we love our life in our new city.

It’s always good to be able to leave on your own terms, especially for a better job. Be gracious with everyone, you’ll be able to work with some of them again.
But feel accomplished, you got what you needed out of that job to end up in a better place.
Go out on a high note, as they say

Change is hard but important
Why is resigning difficult?
The process of resigning takes you sometimes to realize the good things you are leaving behind.
Is your company you’re leaving hiring for any junior associate roles?
Happens all the time. They expect it. Don't sweat it.
