I have received an offer letter from Wipro and have 8.5 years of experience. I heard from someone on LinkedIn that they are actively hiring. However, I also heard that after joining, there might be a chance of being on the bench without a project. Can you provide any insights or recommendations regarding this situation at Wipro?

I joined Wipro as a fresher and worked there for for 2.5 years. As a fresher it is not an ideal place to start a career (no MNC is).
Wipro is under an incompetent management currently. Both Rishad and Thierry have no actual idea what is going on in the company. I heard from an WMG person(take this with a pinch of salt) that more that 15000 resources are on bench currently in Wipro with no projects. Projects are scarce in Wipro even if you have good command over your skillset, nobody from WMG will contact you for project and even if you mail/call them there is no reply from their end. They treat freshers as fodder. This is my POV.
I am not sure if you'll have the same experience, you are an experienced guy and if your hiring was project specific, then you might get allocated to project immediately but there is doubt on how long the project will stay with Wipro. And once project is gone and you go to bench, you'll be lost in an endless sea, and with Wipro's updated bench policy they will ask you to resign if you are non-billable for >90 days. During these 90 days, you'll not get any help from WMG to get projects, they will simply say, find it on your own, we can do anything.
P.S.: Wipro's WMG is the most incompetent and worst.
One of Wipro's biggest clients Intel has started to back away from giving projects to Wipro with only a few remaining now. Just look at Wipro's share value!!
You are senior to me but my suggestion would be if you have any other offer in hand other than Wipro, maybe consider that.
All the best!

Jyada kuch nhi hoga matlab 🙄🤔
yes in bench you can be...depends it was general drive or specific hiring....then you have to give many internal and client interviews to get aligned into project
Although they are hiring for specific project
They can fire anytime without notice
Kuch bhi 😂
🤔
If you have any other options go for it... Keep Wipro as the last option... Very bad management here.
Wipro mat aao, the situation in wipro is horrible
Ok bro thanks for the update
