Senior counsel, retail furniture company. Going through interviews now for the role and I’m wondering what a typical compensation package is. My specialty is real estate, 2015 grad, been in-house my whole career except for a short stint at a boutique real estate firm in SF when I graduated law school. SF Bay Area.

Why has it been so dang hard to move from banking to a strategy role in my industry or expertise? Or a start up? 90% of my applications have passed on me before even giving me a first round interview! I’ve been on over 6 deals, and wanting out and it’s been extremely frustrating! Need genuine advise. Got a call from Oasis Resource management pvt ltd. They said that they can help in conducting interviews in canada or UK. Total 5 interviews. They will charge 72k for this and 2k for profile investigation. They claim that under work permit, accomodation, travel cost, meal will be borne by employer for whole work visa tenure along with salary as per profile and market standard.
Are they legit ?
Should i proceed with them ?
Any chance of them being fraud ?

I got invited to a second round interview with a big company. The title sounds more senior than my current title, but the work responsibilities feel like a step down. I am wondering if I should still interview (to see if they will consider me for my desired role instead or at least, get some interview practice for when a better opportunity comes along). Thoughts? FYI: I found one document saying I need to give a 30 day notice and the employee handbook says 2 weeks to be in “good standing”.

Does anyone else have that one person who is more senior than you that is just always so condescending while adding no value themselves? I have a director who I work with (not in my direct mgmt line) that just treats everyone on my team so poorly, so I act as the shield and it’s so annoying how someone who is so disrespectful and honestly not super value-added only ask for data/questions and not provide any genuine input or recommendations.
