Does anybody have a view on the growth path / trajectory for a Strategy and Ops Lead at Google? I didn't get a very clear sense in my interviews, esp. because it feels like there is 1 manager for the team and so there is not a lot of scope for organic upward movement. Is it only through lateral moves within the org? You get enough tenure for the next role then find an opp to switch?

I am a Manager in Salesforce practice at D and I have 15 YOE and 5 years in Salesforce and at 145k base at D. Is it reasonable to expect a Senior Manager or Director role at pwc or accenture or other top consulting firms with a 30% hike? I took my current role at D at the start of the pandemic and got myself a bad bargain which is why I am looking to move.

Genuine question: What are the most common exit options at Google BizOps? (1) For internal transfer to PM, those teams seem to prefer to hire Google engineers. (2) For internal transfer to Chief of Staff, why those teams don’t promote their own Strategy & Op folks? (3) For BizOps internal promotion, there are not many Director positions. I have been on my SO’s case about drinking. He is unemployed and has been laid off. He has been having drinks 3x a week. One or two glasses a session. I drink 2-3x a month. I say it is too much. He’s Irish and I’ve lived in Ireland. People binge drink the entire weekend until they fall over. Someone who comes home from work drinks one dram of whiskey every night. This is normal. Americans define this as alcoholism.Do you think this is a cultural difference or actual excessive drinking?

I currently have my green card process ongoing with Publicis Sapient; I-485 was filed more than 180 days ago, however, the I-140 is not approved yet. If I leave for another employer at this stage, is it likely that they might withdraw the I-140 which would mean withdrawing the green card process completely? I do have a previously approved EB2 I-140 which was downgraded to EB3 I-140 in October last year and is awaiting approval.
