Whats the general consensus on NORQAIN watches?
Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

Fake it till you make it in
An investment banking analyst should not be confused with an investment analyst. Investment banking you are working on doing deals, equity/debt underwriting, mergers and acquisitions, etc. An investment analyst will be researching investment opportunities. Two very different things.
Investment Analyst will obviously be much more work, as your on the revenue generating side, but also much more reward (compensation) down the line. Really depends what you want in your career. Do you want to be an accountant or an I Banker?
I'm in Assurance. Definitely don't have an MBA. I was originally just suppose to interview for the Fund Accountant position, but they saw something on my resume and wanted to interview me for the Investment Analyst role as well. Recruiter said of all the ppl he's sent to Goldman none have ever been interviewed for the Investment Analyst role. Now I have no clue what they saw on my resume that made them want to interview me for that position but I'll take it.
Goldman isn't hiring an IB analyst with PA experience. Investment analyst sounds like a middle office job
Good luck!
OP you in Dallas by chance? I know they are always hiring fund accountants here.
Yes I am. You got any inside scoop for me?
Investment analyst and Investment Banking analyst are very different positions. I would go on both interviews and learn more about the positions and see what it entails day to day. There's no point in trying to decide between positions if you currently have offers for neither of them.
IB analyst doesn't need MBA. They will do grunt work and work looonnngggv hours (but paid well). IB associate usually needs MBA and does less grunt work (still working long hours) but paid better
GT1: I'll tell him you said hi if I see him
Whatever you may think about the "fund accounting group" at GS, it's still GS name on the resume. The name is respected within industry to say the least.
Doesn't matter what company you work for, but the work and experience you gain from the job.
They definitely considered employer. I see a lot of "Big 4 Preferred" on job postings
Employer only means something IF you don't have the necessary skills and experience to market yourself. If you rely on a name on a piece of paper, you are in trouble.
We all do the same shit under different names.....it's public accounting.
What do you do now? I thought most IB positions with Goldman required an MBA
EY2 what's middle office? Also what's back and front office?
Back is operations, middle office is generally accounting, risk, treasury. Front office is IB, sales and trade, equity research. Basically revenue generating functions.
Oh thank you. That's helpful
