Not like that.. These people frame their own reasons and this is one among them.. If we complete certification and done csr activity they will come up with new reasons..
Same here, my PM said it's your first year and we usually give 3 rating in first year. No logic behind that. Sab bewakoof banate hai yahan
I have been working here for more than 3yrs and still got 3 ratings .

Today your work only will not get u 1 or 2 rating as you have to show ur presence in other areas as well which will define u over and above the professionals ur competing with rating 1 or 2. It is just u need to understand or else your rating wont change. Work wise if u have worked 12 months and someone else has worked 8 months so if i give him 1 rating for 8 months working will it be fair on u who has worked 12 months. I dont think so step in other person shoes and see the world.

I did fun fridays, CSR, innovation accelerator, additional project work still got a 3 rating. At Accenture within 8 months, I had gotten a promotion also. I feel extremely demotivated as I am not working on a great project. Got told the same, first year we give 3 rating.
I too joined on Jan, participated in CSR still same reason its been only 9 months 🙂
Bro, i can understand your feelings, but in KGS please understand the 5 point rating description better. Here even for 4 rating there is a stretch goal requirement. Since you got 3, it has stretch goal component and addition contribution as a basic requirement. Also understand there is a limit for 1 & 2 rating. Even if you do additional CSR activities, innovation, financial savings to the company you many still not get it as your are compared with your peers. Everyone wants 1&2 so everyone does the same amount of hardwork that we put in and does not necessarily let everyone know except their managers. Good luck for your next year...
Bro I am an AD over here in kpmg and has been here for more than 6 years. Trust me I can understand this far more than you. 1st preference will always be given to people who has done something over and above work. We are doing our work but we also need to be indulging in other areas as admin work or imparting trainings etc. just doing CSR activities wont help. If someone is working above obviously they will get better rating than you. Each organisation follows bell curve so there is certain amount of 1,2 or 3. The above factors determine ur rating.
It simply comes down to - have you met your stretch goals also your initial months are learning curve so they don't count.
And it's a comparison across teams so we gotta build our case stronger.
I can empathize with you brother.. I'm in the same boat, worked hard the entire year, played key role in getting business, KSS, took additional operational responsibilities, good client feedback, etc. But still 3. They always come up with reasons to sabotage the ratings.
