Yes, I feel like I have been able to make a difference in my community. One example would be when I was able to talk a suicidal woman out of jumping off of a bridge. She was grateful for my help, and it felt great to be able to make a difference in someone's life.
I've meet a good part of my community personally and tried to help them in any way I can, I prevented crimes from happening, help missing persons go back to their homes, so I think yeah I've made a good impact
Since I joined the force my brothers have been changing their bad behavior a lot, I am the least of my brothers and we are a united family, even though we are an anti-police family, they always respected my decision and always supported me and even more so when I joined the force, their "weird stuff" basically stopped. That if I achieve a change, of course, I do.
In my beginnings as a patrolman, I once met some guys who were about to buy drugs "to try", the streets have normalized drug use for the first time. Well, I stopped them, and rather than taking them to jail, I took them to their parent's house and told them that on Friday of that week I would pick them up, I used my day off to take a group of three children to the museum of contemporary art, ( I did not know anything about art), these three boys did not fall into drugs and since they live near my house I usually see them, if I achieve a change.
We achieve changes every day by putting on our uniforms, many people sometimes need the security that a police officer is close by, while others only need a police officer to be close by so as not to commit a crime and think better of it later.
When I became a police captain, I persecuted several corrupt policemen in my police force, basically discovered them red-handed and forced them to be discharged and paid for their crimes, that day I felt that I achieved something important.
Every day I wake up wanting to change the world, to change the streets, to make my city a better place, personally I feel that I have not achieved anything, but my mother always tells me that just by wanting to change the world I'm already achieving.
