I just had my 90 day review and it’s wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible. I got a meeting invite in my books with my direct manager and director called HOLD - placeholder time for Friday around 3:00. Does this mean I’m getting let go?

The last time I got a meeting like that it was an impromptu 10K raise. Not saying that's what to expect by any means, just that these meetings aren't always bad.

If I were in your position, I'd just ask them what the meeting is about under the guise of wanting to come prepared.

likesmart

It could happen, so make sure you save any work you want to keep. That said, I think it’s unlikely - they don’t usually give you a head’s up like that.

likesmart

If you were being let go it would likely be a last minute invite, at least that’s how I’ve seen it done.

like

I think it might be a little course correction. Don’t overthink it and please let us know.

likesmart

Go into that meeting prepared with things you’ve done well, where you need more support in and elsewhere. If it were a PIP or being let go I think someone from HR would have to be there.

How’d it go ? Don’t have to share if you don’t want to:) sending love

I just want to thank everyone in this community who has been so invested in my story. Gives me hope that there is still empathy in our field. You all rock!

like

No idea, but normally I expect layoff meetings to happen at the end of a pay period so I’m holding out hope for you!!

like

Did they put you on a PIP during your 90 day review? If not, maybe that’s coming. Or it is nothing concerning at all. Stay calm, confident and keep us posted

like

No PIP but this project has been super stressful and my 60 day review was just terrible.

like

Yeah everyone has been so cold to me today and my boss said in a meeting “lots of things are shifting” so fair to say I’m being let go best case moved to a different team but honestly I kinda just want to be let go so I can look full time for a job I really love

like

Good luck today! Sending good vibes

like

Thanks fishbowl friends! Well it wasn’t good I got a list of things I need to work on but might still be let go because they are bringing this to HR on Monday. The team was still ice cold so I feel the decision has already been made. More to come on Monday or Tuesday haha #rollercoaster

like

You're getting let go. Always a chance to scramble out but I'd instead focus that energy on finding a better job.

like

Hang in there! Sometimes a better opportunity is right there once you let go of a toxic one.

like

Not necessarily. Any impromptu, end-of-day meeting always sets off my red flags, but they’ve very rarely been anything of concern, at least in my experience.

I hope it goes well for you! 💕

like

If you’re being let go, it’s usually with an HR person on the call. Are they on the scheduling? If so, your gone!

like

Sending you good vibes!! My sister worked at a start-up (so not an agency) and this is what happened to her when she was let go. There was no HR there (separate meeting) and when she asked her manager about it ahead of time they acted like it was routine and nothing to be worried about 🙄. As someone posted above, be sure to bring in how you’ve been a rockstar in the past 90 days, your strengths, improvements you’ve made, etc.

like

Call in sick on Friday. 🤪

Checking in!

like

You still with us, my guy?

like

Thanks for checking in! I’m still here but mentally DRAINED. I’m being put on a PIP which I honestly don’t even care I at least get my salary and can continue looking for something on client side. It’s still toxic AF.
