I just left McKinsey after almost a decade in consulting (only career). Did 5 at b4, 2 spent at MBA and 3 years at McKinsey. I took a chance on a new opportunity that had seemingly high upside and much bettter WLB. I’m now looking back and feel like I gave up on my forever goal (Partner). Potentially thinking about a boomerang but not sure. Anyone here do something similar? Left consulting for a year then came back and thought it was the right decision?

Will an offer made in paper by one organization get revoked if a counter offer from other organisation is submitted to negotiate a better salary?
Also need an advice on should i submit the counter offer even if i prefer the first organisation only to improve the salary which is less as offered now?

Feeling really overwhelmed and wondering if anyone else has struggled with something similar: I’ve been with the same company for about three years and I feel like it’s time for a change of pace. Poked around on LinkedIn and there wasn’t a single listing I was interested in that I felt genuinely qualified for. Did I somehow fall behind or does everyone just have unrealistic expectations?

This annual appraisal I have got a good % of appraisal increment on my salary but I was not promoted to a senior developer (although I have been mentoring a junior dev in my team and been part of building the project by implementing new technologies and tweaks) and my total YoE is 3.5+ years.
