McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Same experience.
At first, I felt like I got less done. Over time, once I got into my new groove, definitely way more than I did even on a good day at the office. Lack of distractions and ‘quick chats’ helps a lot.
Okay, I feel the same. At first it took me getting used to my own systems and accessing different files from an online server rather than directly from a computer, but I've gotten more used to it and have gotten more productive over time.
I get a whole lot more done at home than I ever have in office. I'm way too easily distracted for office life. At home I can eliminate all of them and am so much more productive as a result. I'll never go back if I can avoid it.
It feels like once you get the freedom, it's hard to reverse that. Always hard following rules that don't make sense!

I think this can both ways. At home I get distracted by my fridge, laundry, the internet.
For me it's like if I get distracted in the office, I'm usually talking to people. At home I can actively use laundry as a way to reset rather than distract.
