Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

That can be true in a general sense, but there can be a catch to it. I've been told that while the stress in big firms can be intense, especially in busy season, there's a benefit to having a deep bench that's often overlooked. In off-cycle times you can have slow weeks. Smaller firms are leaner, and while you may not work 90-hour weeks, you'll seldom hit 40-hour weeks. Expect around 50 hours year-round.
Compared to my peers who went big4 in NYC, my hours while in public were much more normal. It’ll vary by industry specialization and locality though.
Some are better, some are worse. You’ll have to do your research. Some stress will always be there, just a matter of how much you want to tolerate for the pay.
Generally true, but you need to compare your very specific circumstances
