It took me about 5 years to be able to recognize this. I've had two patients now where I know that not only could I not help them adequately, but I might do more harm than good. All it took was putting down my ego and referring them to someone else I know could help but it was hard!
I certainly have considered this! I also referred a client recently because it was the right thing. It is the ones where I may have a blind spot that I worry the most about.
I really don't think so. I have had that thought cross my mind before but when it rears its ugly head I try to ignore it. I know that we do good in this field.
No. I make sure that in everything I do, it is always for something that's towards the welfare of many. That sounds so cliché but I make sure that I will always lean on the good side of things. That's what my parents taught us to be.
