First of all—major props for making the leap. That transition is not easy, and it says a lot about your hustle and adaptability. When reviewing resumes, recruiters love to see quantifiable sales metrics (e.g., pipeline generated, meetings booked, or quota attainment). Also, any language about building relationships, navigating objections, or working cross-functionally really helps signal you’re in “sales pro” territory now. Consider rewriting your bullets to focus on how you solve problems and deliver outcomes, not just where you did the work. You're not a retail person anymore—you’re someone who knows how to sell.
This is great advice that I think can be applied to any senior position in tech. The "quantifiable metrics" bit is tricky for most people, at least it was for me, but ever since I started DOING it in my job instead of only thinking about it when I needed to write my CV down, something magical happened: I started getting people buy-in without arguing or persuading much. Data would talk by itself. I spend time to have dashboards and metrics in place, and to reflect on WHY something needs to be done deeply. I also deprioritize or WON'T DO some tasks. But when I deliver, now I know the impact and the choice I made is backed up by data. You also notice issues that you would never notice otherwise.
How much experience you have with handling objections, pipeline discipline, follow‑ups, and working toward targets, not just “helping customers.”
