If 0DTE options on the daily isn’t responsible, I don’t know what is.

I am now (33 years old) but was wreckless for a few years. Took me from 27 to 30 to pay off the ridiculous decisions
Extremely responsible, my kids will be happy with their inheritance one day.

I save anywhere between 40-60% of my income monthly.
- I have 0 debt, (paid off my student loans in a year)
- Rent & utilities are less than 10% of my post-tax income
- No car, dont need or want one
- I rarely buy nice or big things, just an international vacation almost every year. Even with that, I still manage to save at least 40% of my income yearly.
I do live comfortably. I just splurge on things I care for and minimize expenses in areas I don't care for.
I am 27, no kids (yet), will be married soon.
Seems like you are very good with your money at such a young age.
That's very good to hear
Nope... I see something I want... I buy...
Yes. Possibly overly so having grown up poor.
It depends on your definition I guess. My wife and I went through some very hard times (by 1st world standards) and so we got behind in some ways. Now that we are doing well we have prioritized spending on experiences for the family over hunkering down and maximizing savings. We are aware that we will need to work way longer than others as a result, but we made the decision with our eyes open. For background, we live in a more rural area and our kids were not terribly school activity or sports oriented (hard for either of us to relate to) and drugs are not hard for kids to find around here. We decided to buy a hobby farm so they have chores and animals to take care of. Since all the animals are pets and don't provide food or income, it is just a $$$ suck, but it keeps them out of trouble and teaches responsibility and work ethic, so it is worth it to us.
