As some of you may be aware, our dear friend, mentor and activist derek walker was recently diagnosed with prostrate cancer. Fortunately, it was caught very early, so he will be ok.

He will be going into surgery today, and the part that sucks is he will be walking out of the hospital tomorrow with a $150k bill.

He would NEVER make this ask of anyone, but some of his closest friends have convinced him that this is ok.

I’ve been researching as I enter peri and I’m pretty convinced I want to try low dose birth control to regulate my symptoms. Anyone gone this route and if so what brand do/did you like?

Do you find working remotely during this time that you’re having a harder time staying on top of everything that’s going on? With the scattered communication and a boss who hasn’t been as focused and can be hard to pin down, I sometimes think I’m giving 150% but something ends up lagging and I’m just wiped out. What are some of your tactics to avoid missed items and stay active and on top of everything through the Covid funk?

Ladies: looking for gym recommendations. Me: mid-40s, out of shape mom. I have chronic acid reflux that does get in the way of workouts at times. Prefer strength training over cardio and small group settings. Mixed gender is fine, but I generally prefer a community of folks closer to my age. Does such a place exist?

I have pretty bad anxiety to the point where it affects my job performance and will cause me to waste hours because I'm trying to cope with symptoms. I hate that xanax works so well and am terrified of getting addicted to it. Wasted 2 hours this morning panicking and thinking I was about to have a heart attack or something stupid, then I took a xanax and drank some tea and I'm super focused again and my productivity is way up. Anyone else take xanax? I usually only do like 2x a week.

I left bedside nursing and the hospital 2 years ago. I don't feel guilty about it and honestly this pandemic
has convinced me to never return.
