Money does not equal happiness
OP, money can get you very close to happiness. Get into EY, better and after a year or two change your team. But doubling your money is the best thing you can do right now if you don't have other opportunities
Take it and use it as leverage to pivot to what you actually want to do in ~2 years
Exactly. This is the key. Always think of the next job to set you up for 2-3 years from now. It should be a stepping stone career and financially speaking
Take the money. Get the big 4 name on your resume and then shift back into whatever you want with more skill, a bigger name, and more experience.
Double the money is too good to pass up tbh. And it’s not like you won’t be learning
Sometimes dreams and goals change. Take the money.
Double your salary…seems like a definite yes but maybe you should network with EY employees and see if you could eventually transition your career to meet your goals later down the line within the company
Take the 💰 money 💴 💵 .!
Payday!
Make it rain!
How did you double your salary?!?!
Good for you! I hope you can get the $$ you deserve and the right career path!
How set are you on those career goals? Mine change every few years. Would you be similarly fulfilled doing the EY work for double the pay? If so, accept that trajectories and passions change but the need for dollars doesn't. Go get what your worth.
My career goals have remained pretty steady for the past decade. By job function, my current role is the best training ground I could ever ask for. By salary/resume experience, moving to EY will set me up much more comfortably
This being said, moving to EY would take me further away from where I want to be as measured by number of transitions needed to get back “on path”
Doubling salary isnt common place. See if you can do more management consulting before accepting given it seems your experience would give that request backing.
If your desired career path is also a change from your current situation, then definitely take the money right now.
Isn’t money your career goal?
