Hey fishes,
Let’s say Brillio gave some joining bonus and if we are leaving within an year we need to pay it back.
So does it mean I need to put papers after one year or is that okay to put papers after 9 months, so serving 3 months notice makes it one year.
Please let me know if anyone had an idea about this.
Brillio

Take the money, they won’t remember you in a year anyway - even if you had stayed.
Always always remember- it is just a job.
Dont burn bridges. Ensure you have decent buffer of savings for layoff or worse case scenarios.
Relocation needed etc? Get your mind ready that 2x TC means more time spent at work, see if you re ready for that.
Any other family obligations, ensure it doesnt get disrupted by new role.
All thats covered? If so, just jump in and explore. Congratulations!
Its a remote role and im located in canada so a heavy portion of the TC increase is exchange rate derrived. Thanks for the feedback!
First, you’ve only been approached, you don’t have the job yet so one thing at a time. If I were you, I’d definitely pursue it! After your intro call/interview with them, you never know, it might not even be a good fit, there’s nothing to stress about just yet. However, if it goes well and seems like a great opportunity and you end up getting the offer, you should definitely tread carefully so as not to burn bridges. Do you have a good relationship with your boss? If it comes to it, just be very honest and say it was an opportunity that you just couldn’t pass up, despite the fact that you love your current job, and you hope to stay connected and possibly work together again down the line.
I hope you come back with an update!

I would take the job. Opportunities like that don’t come up very often.
I would at least interview and see if they offer you the role. Like others said, you haven't been offered it yet. But if you do get the offer, I think I would take it.
My main concerns are i live in a smaller city (600k ) and this close to the best firm to work for in it. I also feel as if because I will be a sole canadian working in a US role I will be to more likely to be laid off. Leaving my firm 3 months in would be a burned bridge with one of best employers in it. Cant see them ever rehiring me if anything were to happen in this potential opportunity
Frame the question in another way: what on earth would make you stay, when you're being offered near DOUBLE?
