Take the test first. It’ll be easier from all aspects
I would say move to the big 4 for the experience first. While it will probably be easier to pass the exam first at a smaller firm, your resume will have a better boost with big 4 on your resume. If you decide to switch firms later, you might be able to ask for paid leave to study, or the hours might slow during the summer to study in the clock.
I started at small firm & went to b4. Pass cpa at B4. Maximize exit opportunity by have cpa and being at b4.
That’s what I did. Started at a small firm and moved to big 4 after a few months. Still haven’t passed the CPA haha.
