Hi fishes,
I am planning a switch so was going through some salary data for a software engineer. My ex-senior manager recommended me a website: Growceed.com which helped me a lot in getting clarification about a lot of things but I am in doubt whether the average salaries of software engineer mentioned on Growceed.com really that much in top MNC companies.

Looking at roles on Stripe’s financial crime team.- I’ve seen mixed reviews about the company on here. I’m relatively new to the industry and willing to compromise a bit on WLB especially since the role aligns really well with a lot of my experience and interests . Does anyone have insight into the financial crime team culture there?

Depends how bad you wanna risk losing a job over $75 every 2 weeks
Personally, I would only be countering in $10k increments. Anything less than that would make you appear cheap.
Aside from that, I think the company you’re negotiating with is a big red flag if they’re pushing back for only $3,600…If it was me, I would reconsider even joining that firm (think about your future bonuses, will they cheap out on that too?)
It’s an employee’s market, you can do better
OOoh this is solid advice. I am going to try this from now on. Thank you for sharing.
Frankly $2,500 isn’t moving the needle in the long run. If this is a job where you can learn a ton and sets you up for a good trajectory just take it
I'd ask them why they're so hesitant over $3,600. Are they unsure about me, questioning my value/ability, etc? If they hesitate over such a small amount (less than 5% of salary you asked for) , then you're looking at poor raises/promotions/growth in the future with them.
I’m guessing they don’t want me come in making more than their current team or their “job grade band”
$3,600 is not that much if you ask me. If they can't agree with $3600 more in thee negotiation, much more when it comes to bonuses and raise?
Bonuses and PTO are usually not negotiable. Since they are based on company policy, I only negotiate for the base. But the offer still sounds good to me. You can just negotiate after 6 months or a year for a raise.
Really? That's great. I'll also try this next time :)
That's a pretty good compromise offer. But, yes, you can still try to negotiate for additional benefits.
