You can start by asking questions which signal that you're engaged. Then, start throwing out your ideas for consideration - whether they are foolish or not. People will evaluate you over a longer period of time. Overtime, things you do become habit. I find that when I don't verbally engage, my learning is stunted and people's perception becomes my reality.

Thank you, this is helpful! I guess it’s all about practicing until it becomes a reality.

Hello accounting friends. I have an upcoming interview at a hedge fund as a fund accounting role. I currently work at a big four (1year). Does anyone know questions that will ask ? Any advice will be appreciated as there aren’t that much information about this hedge fund online

Anybody working to exit to something outside of tech? Maybe to a particular industry? Something creative (art, music, etc)? Other? Just curious since we see a lot of tech exit wishes...

Has anyone gone through 3 rounds of interviews with a firm, been told there are no other candidates, and then NOT received an offer?! This wait is killing me.

Has anybody made the switch from Big 4 consulting to MBB? What was the interview process like, and how did you prepare?

Feeling hopeful for a job offer in the coming week(s). Would be my first entry to the ‘VP’ level, officially leading my own team and strategy without a CMO. Curious where I should begin with compensation requests - no stock options avail. What’s a realistic salary without cutting myself short? Reasonable to request a signing bonus for loss of end of year bonus by leaving in Q4? What percentage of salary? Does PTO scale up at that level as well? NYC, 10 years exp, Masters, great role fit

im feeling quite anxious about an upcoming interview how do yall coup with that and just chill?

I submitted an app 2 weeks ago, got a referral to McKinsey a week ago...do I still have a chance of being contacted?

I’m looking to exit into private equity after 2 years in consulting and will be applying this cycle. Does anyone have any materials, advice or best practices they would be able to share? Thanks!

Thoughts on getting credit for success stemming from my work? Former peer, now boss in a new role, leans heavily on me for strategy, comms, planning & analysis - admits to me they can’t do what I do.

Dear Accenture, Please pick me for an interview. The end.

Anyone know how referrals at Chewy(pet) work? Would I receive a notification once someone refers me? Feel like I made a mistake asking an ex for referral 🤦‍♀️

Hey guys, I got offer from lowe's India for senior analyst position giving CTC of 16 LPA and from fractal analytics for Analytics consultant giving CTC of 19 LPA both including 10% variable. I am 4.5 years experienced. Which one should I choose considering I am planning future in product not consulting.

Used to clerk for a federal judge. Former judicial intern of judge just emailed me saying she’s interested in applying and would like to discuss my experience there? Am I allowed? I feel like I’ve never heard of people doing this. I can’t seem to think of a reason why I couldn’t speak to her but I feel like clerkships always have weird rules about them.

Can someone compare (type of work, exit opps, comp, etc.) consulting at a major firm for a tech sector group vs. a financial services sector group?

Technical Screening for DDV OWT for an associate role for PwC. Does anyone have any tips for this part of the interview, haven't had a technical screen before.

On a call with the CEO talking about diversity and they compare a person with tattoos experiencing prejudice in the office to Black people colleague experiences... Meanwhile last I checked, a tattoo was a choice and removable. Also depending on placement, you can’t see it.

For folks exiting to FAANG / Product at start ups or really any hot company. How do you go about networking to get the interview? Do you apply then cold email someone you may have an “in”with, or are you picking say 10 companies and then having warm contacts there that you’ll ping when you see a job. I’ve been passively looking for jobs but zero luck, I only want to leave for the right fit. Big 4 here so feel my brand won’t auto get me an interview like mbb/t2

Seattle ladies! Potentially moving in a couple of months & want to be in a high rise in south lake union. Any positive experiences to share?

What are peoples opinions on work from home? It seems to be an unpopular opinion but as a junior I despise it. I work 3 feet from my bed, I find the barriers of a phone/email between me and a senior to add a huge amount of stress to my life and I think it’s stunting my career development at my firm because I can’t build relationships as effectively. I’ve never at all had mental health issues before but now am really starting to feel burnt out and anxious most of the time. What do you think?

S2 right now. Planning to leave in spring 2023 and get MBA. If I still perform above average/well up until I leave for school - Could I push to get promoted to manager with the intention of leaving right after? I want to get the official title change as it may help with recruiting while in b school. I also am considering letting my immediate partner know this as soon as I get a high gmat score.

“If you’re not sweating by first hour, you’re not teaching”, “Don’t let me walk in the room and see you a$$ sitting down”, “ You should leave everyday exhausted” just a few quotes from our new academic supervisor. I find these extremely offensive, but since this is a supervisor any advice on how to handle this situation?

Is anyone using Social Emotional Learning and Mindfulness in their classroom or school wide? Reading a book (cover attached) and I have so many things to discuss!!!

6 months into consulting and bored of being aligned to only 1 industry. Thinking of switching to a small firm but is there a long term career benefit of staying at a big 4 firm for a couple of years?

I was interviewing with an agency last year - it didn’t work out because they needed someone more senior but was an overall really positive process on both sides - I still really admire the agency and the work and am ready to leave my current agency - is it pointless to reach back out?

Have you ever been rolled off a project suddenly? Should I be paranoid of a 4 rating or being laid off.

Can you actually pay your taxes with credit cards to get bonuses? I am assuming for the sign up bonuses. I owe a pretty large tax bill every year and would like to pay with credit card then pay that off at the end of the month.

I'm actively looking for a new job and about to start a new project at work with people I really like. I feel guilty starting a new project and knowing I will likely not finish it and might leave these folks in the lurch when I quit my job.

Is there a way to restrict character count, or note characters over X number, in a cell? (Ideally, like Twitter where you can see how many over and decide whether to proceed) — or is there an alternate to excel that does so/is meant for word processing (spell/gram check)? Context: client wants a template for copy input/planning that mirrors a defined UI of an internal L&D platform. The platform only shows a certain number of characters before adding “read more” — & the desire is to limit that
