I still struggle with networking. In my position, I’m involved in a number of task forces which often have social events so the team can meet and get to know each other in person. These events often take place in crowded places and I am so anxious and focused on masking that I can’t remember people’s names and I’m afraid I come across closed off as a result. Anyone have any tips for navigating these?

Had an interview for an associate position at Citi. Interviewee was based in London and I’m in NYC. The only interview time that worked was 6am. I was barely functioning and feel like I truly messed up in my answers because I couldn’t not think clearly. I have another with the head of the division next week again at 6am (pre determined before this interview). It was also hard because the division’s core work is private enough that there was not much prep I could do beforehand. Tips?

Currently at BNY Mellon with 10 YOE, specifically in Corporate Trust working CLO/CDO’s (first job out of college). I created this group after battling with the school regarding my son’s behaviors in kindergarten. He had ADHD but was not yet diagnosed with autism. I requested an IEP and they determined he is on the autism spectrum. He’s wicked smart, but has sensory issues. After studying autism more, I realized I share many of his characteristics. I also have ADHD, which is controlled with medication. Any others out there who have or think they may have autism?

Thank you to those who have joined. Does anyone have anything they are struggling with at work that they believe may be an issue due to autism?

Has anyone learned any tricks to help block out office noise and busyness? I am a solo now so it isn’t as much of an issue at this point, but when I worked for a firm I listened to music on my headphones a lot but keeping the door closed was frowned upon as “unsocial.”
