I think this is a great idea. This dental hygienist went viral on TikTok for encouraging people to smell their floss after flossing to check for gum disease—specifically periodontitis. While it seems like a pretty gross method, it could also really encourage people to come into the office if they can identify something wrong at home. Do you think this is a good idea?

Ugh, I can't imagine smelling my own floss, let alone someone else's. I do know what she's talking about, though. You can smell the gum disease in someone's mouth if they haven't been flossing.

Hello everyone I have 29 years as a dental professional in Texas. I started as a dental assistant back in 1993. As my career progressed as a RDA, I moved to the front office and eventually management. I even taught dental assistants and became the Program Director of a DA program. COVID opened up remote work for me, I manage eclaims, claims corrections and billing for two offices. $20 per hour, no bonuses or incentives, I know I am not getting paid enough! Any input would be appreciated.

I want to go back to work in the dental field. I was an assistant for 10+ years. I miss helping people smile. But trying to find work that I can do within school hours is so hard! Has anyone found anything that is legit work from home? Either remote treatment plan presenting or helping with scheduling? I really need something from home because my husband travels so much. I’m located outside of Chicago if that helps.
