Well the official answer is Y as I stated. If you want to disagree write for their comitee not me. I'd think it's U cause the difference bte the letters follow the sequence 2,4,6...8 but apparently it goes 2,4,6...12

likefunny

Yea both patterns are possible so don’t see why it’d be one vs the other

Okay so this is one of those bs lateral what am I thinking question where the answer can have multiple but the "right" is whatever approach the person thinks it is but y is the answer if you use an arthemic sequence where after the first two numbers in the sequence the next later is the amount of letters forward of the sum of all the previous junps. So... A-1 Jump of 2 C-3 So go forward 4 G-7 So forward 6 M-13 Go forward 12 Y-25

like

Exactly, that’s why a lot of us said “U” because the easiest pattern is 2,4,6,8.

I got a gooder one: what’s 70 - 1 expressed as a four letter word?

likefunny

I... don’t get it. I’m sure it’s dirty just not sure what it is....

I can’t speak to whether or not you’re dumb, but based on the information given, there’s no reason it can’t be U. If you move 2 letters after A you get C. Add 2 more shifts on top of the 2 original, you have 4 letters which puts you at G. If you add 2 more to the 4 you are now at M. Adding 2 more the the 6 between G and M and you’re at U. Maybe your intern thinks he’s funny by interpreting U as You, so he can say it’s not You. But U is a correct answer.

like

Lol you can use bs logic get like half the letters in the alphabet. This is bs logic not really logic questions

likefunny

It’s Y. The A to C has 2 jumps. C to G has 4 jumps. Next jump you add 2 + 4 = 6 and 6 jumps from G is M. Now add 2+4+6=12 and 12 jumps from M is Y.

like

Right, I guess I meant the jump from 2 to 4. It doesn’t fit the sequence of adding the prior numbers

Check out my year in mensa podcast

Clearly not in Mensa- didn’t even post the link to the podcast.

funnylike

I wrote the question. It is V.

like

I tested it with my whole family and all of us said U... I found a way to get W also but I can’t figure out how V is the answer

like

I too tested five other people who got U, so don’t see Y, maybe I’m just stupid 😂

A bullet dodged by not joining Mensa.

like

It’s V

I was informed the correct answer is “Y”. I don’t see it and it’s going to bother me

How do you approach a legal intern who isn’t doing their best on the assignments you give them? To clarify, the issues I have aren’t with mistaken legal analysis/legal writing (they are still learning and I’d never be upset at them for that- I don’t even know everything lol) but on tasks that just require them to compare sets of records for similarities/discrepancies or check the status of discovery document production from OC, etc. Cont’d in comments —

I have a return offer following my internship for an MBB in my home country in SE Asia. However, I want to stay in the US after my MBA (salary, relationship, network etc.). Would it make sense to get offers from T2s to put pressure on my company to enable a transfer? If so, how would I best play this card? I would likely pick any US firm over any MBB at home, given the financial considerations.

How soon is too soon to be preparing for a lateral move? I did my 1L summer internship in a niche area of securities law, loved it, took courses on it. I decided I wanted to explore securities law a little more broadly and not to pigeonhole myself. The firm I’m at is great—doing sec lit—but has zero work in that niche area that I liked. I’m afraid that I am passing on a passion, and I don’t want to get too “old” for a firm to take me on if I have zero experience in a specialty area. Advice? Thx
