I thought I was doing a great deed for a company but was let go right before thanksgiving holiday then they sent email asking me if i want to resign my lease asking rocket high prices for a 1bdr knowing i was just let go from there . lets include i have been on call for 5-6 months straight and was accused of stealing company time . how can employers treat reliable workers this way and get away with it leaving them in such tight space and uncomfortible situations ?

Unemployment may be a viable option at this time, as securing a new position in the current job market can be extremely challenging. I encourage others to consider applying while actively seeking employment, as I am doing. My previous employer did not prioritize patient care, and despite my years of experience and licensure, the job search has been difficult due to the prevalence of automated responses and the lack of communication from real individuals, as well as the absence of in-person interviews. Therefore, I would recommend considering unemployment for the time being.

I am new to fishbowl and recently got an offer from Publicis Sapient for a senior associate. They are offering $136k with unlimited pto benefits. As I am from the industry and haven't heard about this company before, I would like some comments or thoughts about working for this company? How do they invest in their employees (like pay raise, promotions, etc)?

Starting with our very first IVF cycle this week and kinda nervous 🤞
Nurse says retrieval to happen tentatively around 18th Dec but then transfer can take place in early February too considering genetic testing takes weeks. Is this the norm? Just fearing the team is not unnecessarily delaying things owing to holiday break.

Should I take this role?
Pros: 50k bump, company is full remote, no time tracking software, unlimited PTO, 10k in quarterly bonuses, vertical move in responsibility and title, will set me up for future roles in different companies with the title I am looking for (so strategic move)

Cons: Its a startup, the solution they offer is adjacent to my desired industry, its a very small team so I wouldn’t grow my network as much, tech stipend for new laptop (but they don’t provide a work one)

What are some easy to make, low stress holiday meals for a school holiday staff party? I was "volunteered" by our principal to set it up this year (🙄). I'm making decorated sugar cookies but kind of drawing a blank when it comes to savory dishes. Bonus points if you have any adult holiday themed games or fun drinks to suggest! It's off school property and there will be a bar (thank god), for context.

I’m in a little of a pickle but a good one. Offer A. Established “start up” doing well financially and projected to hit profitability. 130k base. Stocks offered, unlimited PTO, and 70% Medical covered. Offer B. Is at a business much larger…90k salary with 10% bonus and generous stock offering. Titles are different which is why the pay is much different. I know some may think it is a no brainer but offer A allows me to grow the department ground up whereas offer B id be apart of to just different

For expert witnesses/lawyers

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

The normalization of "on hold" by the usual suspects. Had 6 interviews in past 4 months with D_itte Get the verbal offer from HR. Yay. Fast forward to following Monday. Get thanked for my complimentary followup sent post-final interview. 48hrs later, same recruiter (on speakerphone) tells me job is now hold and "you must be upset" and good luck in your search.

Tacky AF. Tell me I was rejected by the shadowy 5-person board or it was given to someone who wanted less. Just not this b.s.
