Go ahead and tell them. You don’t know for sure that you’d reject, just be honest that you’d want $xx to work for them. It’s ok to still say no if they match your offer

like

Ask for silly money, this is not your SO who you promised to marry but never did. This is a job and if they want you bad enough, they will pay premium for you to take the job you dont care for

like

Ask for it. And consider which (if any) aspects of the job that you don’t like could be improved/resolved by money. This would also be good practice in salary negotiations!

honest salary requirement even though I’d likely reject or tell them I’d rather see the offer first? If the latter, how best to word it? TBH, it’d have to be a huge offer to sway me to take it. I don’t want them thinking I led them on this whole time either but I am curious about my market value. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

Let's say I can't get a product or marketing job in tech, but I could get in via sales or customer success. Does working in those roles pigeonhole you, or is it easy to switch later? If you take a job as a customer success mgr for ads, or as a partnership mgr for learning solutions for industry X, are you going to get stuck in those products (ads, learning solutions), roles (CS, sales/partnerships), or target industry (X)?
