I don’t know your relationship, but I had to be firm about it. I appreciated their concern, but it’s not something you just go out and do. I can work toward a promotion, but working toward marriage with somebody is a completely different ballgame.
I am going through this same thing right now. I am 35 and they keep asking me when I am going to get married and have kids. I just keep telling them that I am happy and focused on my career right now.
Marriage may be their expectation, but it's not your requirement. Just stay focused on your goals. This is your life, not theirs.
Exactly this. OP, it doesn't matter what they want, it matters what you want. Have you thought about what you want? I'm 35 and have no intention of getting married or having kids. Not because I am super career driven, but because neither of those things have ever appealed to me and there is nothing wrong with that.
