I joined about a year ago in tax and its more work but the culture and my team is great. I feel really supported in my role so far.
Thanks for your response. Would you mind to share which office/location you are refering to? Sorry as you mentioned more work, do you need to work overtime on a regular basis?
Did this myself, and I’ll say this—the first year? Everything is fine, they’re very supportive, better benefits, etc. Year two and beyond? Yikes. They’ll cut your clients left and right bc they aren’t big enough or can’t pay big firm fees. The clients who remain will get big fee increases bc “now you’re with RSM, and we honored small firm fees last year but now you have to swallow big increase to get more in line with RSM standard” AND you’ll still not be able to raise them enough to hit RSM goal metrics so you’ll be getting scolded internally all the time too. My advice? Unless you think you’ll enjoy “big firm” life, wait long enough to get the retention bonus and then go elsewhere. Though not sure where else bc all the small firms are getting eaten these days…
