I was laid off.
My manager said its not you its your role. Just some corporate non sense.
HR says its not a lay off. They want us to find a new role in 2 months else we can go.
The new leadership do not have any idea what are they doing and why are they firing?
I am from India and firing a resource here will not increase the share prices in US.
Any way looking outside for new opportunity!

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

So as we were the first to get hit with COVID in NY, we are seeing declines in numbers now. Travelers are cut short of their contract, our hours are getting cut, and staffs are laid off. Got a call yesterday from HR that now staffs need to file for unemployment to compensate for the lost hours. We risked our lives for this fight, now they are letting us go. Shit’s fucked.

Considering an offer to go from firm (4 YOE) to become a privacy/product counsel for a tech company (non-faang). One concern for me is the potential of a recession in late 22 into 23 with the fed rate hikes. My fear is if that happens, me being on the chopping block as new in house counsel. If I stayed at the firm, I feel reasonably secure as an associate of not being laid off due to the market. How do in house counsel positions typically fare during lay off cycles? Any experiences to share?

Actually, I gave Interview for BackEnd Developer @ Itilite. I was selected in the interview process (2 Tech DSA Based + HR) and got a mail stating that our interview panel is really impressed with your domain related expertise in order to proceed with offer negotiation please submit your documents. Now after 2-3 days of document submission, they came up by saying they cant move forward with my candidature.

I am still amazed how can they do this after asking my documents.

I’m responding to midnight emails (and daytime ones in under 20 minutes) and getting work done the same morning. I’m spending countless hours doing edits over edits. I actually don’t like super associate. Why do people live like this 24/7?!? 🤔

I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. I was going to leave the legal field all together because I was so burned out and depressed, but I decided to give the field one more chance if I was able to go in-house. Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.
