Lol one month into your manager job and you think you're qualified for the next level? Sigh

I mean I think it should be fine. It’s a lateral move, no? Deloitte M = PwC SM. Similarly, Deloitte SM = PwC Director. Seems like you’ve grown internally. I’d say go for it. I’m sure you’d get a nice pay bump.
That’s not actually how it works Deloitte 5. The manager position at PwC & Deloitte is the same (typically 6 YOE to reach this position). The difference is at Deloitte you might be a SM for 5-10 years while at PwC the SM is split into 2 tiers SM and then Director. The only difference is that a PwC Director is equivalent to an experienced Deloitte SM.
That being said, I agree Op should go for it. Never sell yourself short. If you’re skilled then YOE should not make a difference.
I mean be honest because one will clearly come up as a lie and if you are caught you will be blacklisted

Why apply as SM? Do you know how to sell, and have a good network to keep a pipeline funnel? Don’t bite what you may not be able to chew. Better take a M role with expedited path and higher comp.
Came from Industry. Brought a network with me, an understanding of sales in general and a massive comfort level in front of customer C suite.
No, industry people don’t have less experience than you lol. Having said that, go for it. Sink or swim man, I support you.
This is unethical and doesn't make any sense. PwC is as good as Deloitte and probably better. Their standards are equally higher. Even if you get selected, how are you going to pull off day-to-day work as a SM while leading multiple M, C and Associates?

Why are you showing one title? It sounds like it’s to give the impression that you are more tenured than you are.
We’re hiring anyone and everyone who applies. It would be foolish to exaggerate and risk shutting the door by being caught

I don’t understand this…so you’re essentially a senior consultant applying for senior manager roles?
Why do you think you can be a senior manager? You literally just made manager and have no experience.
Lmaooo this dude gonna enter orals thinking he’s taking meeting minutes
Can’t lateral to Partner unfortunately as I already joined MBB as A and now they won’t let me jump levels. Which MBB you from? Don’t quite recollect StratM level outside of Acn.
Dont include titles on your resume. Just group and dates plus achievements
Let them decide what role you are good for based on your experience/knowledge
Why not go for partner ?
You’ll fail hard as an SM at PwC since you’ll not only need to lead teams at a leadership capacity (having convos with client leadership for biz dev), being part of the sales process - full cycle from responding to RFPs to sending in a SOW (risk management, client acceptance etc etc)
First off, you are a M now. You got promoted because you were performing at an M already so dont let the duration of the new title create any doubts for yourself
Exactly. That’s what a promotion in consulting is all about.

Your goal of leapfrogging is admirable. How many year tenure is typical for the SM promo? 2, 3? I’d consider waiting until you have closer to 1 YOE @ M, it will make your likelihood of landing the role higher
At Deloitte they expect you to perform at the next level before they promote you. As an M up for SM this year - the reality is quite different. I absolutely (and unexpectantly) dislike what comes with the next level. So while I understand the chase and in your case the opportunity is there for a title jump and higher comp I would advise you to reconsider the jump before you know what you’re getting into especially without a network to take you on the sales journey.
The big 4 collude and I’ve never ever seen someone make a jump and level up.
Go for it OP
Well titles are not always equivalent, we level down SMs from other Big 4 to Ms, and Vice versa. OP- just bc honest and go with #2. It’s all about how you do in your interviews
